Responsibilities of Professional Tutors for International Students in YPC
For a better international students’ teaching management, each major school shall assign one (or one for each major) teacher or counselor as the professional tutor according to the scale of overseas students, implement the professional tutor system management, and be responsible for the professional planning and learning process management of overseas students. In order to standardize the management, the responsibilities of international student professional tutors are formulated as follows.
Job responsibilities:
Take attendance of international students;
Coordinate the relevant teaching management of professional courses; Help international students make academic plans;
Track the learning situation of international students and help them
complete their studies;
Assist in the collection and delivery of academic results, statistical
reporting workload and other related work.
Specific work:
Assist the college in formulating talent training programs for overseas students and submit them to School of International Exchanges;
At the end of each semester, make course plans for next semester according to the teaching plan, and solicit teaching materials (report to the teaching secretaries of each school by class for summary);
Before the beginning of each semester, contact the teaching secretary, arrange the opening work, contact the overseas students, distribute the schedule, guide the students to understand the time, place and week on the schedule, and send the schedule to Ms. Geng Fei (Tel: 98011) of the management department (Library Building 809) of School of International Exchanges;
Pay attention to the examination arrangement of students and inform students to take the examination in time. Overseas students can be given a different exam or the same exam with domestic students.
Help remind teachers to hand in their grades in time. All examination or class results must be submitted to the teaching management department of School of International Exchanges (Library Building 809) within one week after the completion of the examination for uploading in overseas student management system. For non-test-based courses, score record is the only thing to be submitted. For test-based courses, score records together with seven documents required by the Academic Affairs Office of YPC shall be submitted to School of International Exchanges.
At the end of each semester, contact the teaching secretary of the college and report the teaching workload of the teacher.
According to the requirements of the school, manage the attendance of international students.
It is suggested that each professional tutor can choose to arrange domestic students for one-to-one assistance and guidance to assist in the routine contact and attendance management in the teaching process.
