Regulations of Foreign Students’ Outgoing and Excused Absence
To protect the order of teaching in school and students’ personal and property safety, YPC will strengthen the management of students’ leaving and excused absence according to Interim Provisions on Education and Management of National University and Regulation of Dealing with Student Accident set by the Ministry of Education. The following rules are issued taken cognizance of the context in YPC.
Article 1 Students who want to leave school and cannot come back on the same day must apply for excused absence and complete leave procedures in advance. Students are responsible for their own security when outside the school.
Article 2 Students who are unable to take part in the teaching activities due to illness or other special reasons should approach IES in advance, to apply for leave of absence and submit the form to the subject teacher before the class.
Article 3 Leave of absence shall be applied in written form. Diploma students must get their supervisors’ approval for leave. Leave of one day can be approved by the director of IES Students’ Affairs Office; 2 – 7 days’ leave shall be approved by the Vice Dean; 7 days or above shall be approved by the Dean or the general party branch secretary. Students must provide a study plan for the classes they will be absent from.
Article 4 Students who ask for leave during group activities arranged by school including study, intern, competition and survey should get approval from the class teacher, intern enterprise or institution. Normally leave shall not exceed 3 days.
Article 5Students who apply for sick leave must be accompanied by hospital certificates. The application for personal leave must be accompanied by a written certificate or submitted directly by the parents to the Student Affairs Office of IES.
Article 6 The reasons for the leave of absence cannot include family affairs, accompanying family members or relatives, family or country celebrations, and failing to return to school on time. In case of special circumstances, it is necessary to have a written letter from the embassy.
Article 7 Student should finish leave canceling procedure with the class teacher and subject teacher on return, otherwise it would count as unexcused absence. Before leave, student should submit a copy of excused absence form to IES students’ apartment manager, and get it back when they return, or will be treated as staying out without permission.
Article 8 Group activity should be applied with written document introducing the activity’s objective, team member, time, place, plan, security measures to prevent accident, and class teacher. It could be held only after approval by IES and recorded by public security organ.
Article 9 If the outing activity arranged by college conflicts with class timetable, the organizational unit will submit written document to IES Teaching Affairs Office and inform subject teachers.
Article 10 During the leave, students should protect themselves and property. Do not use illegal vehicles and do not share your personal information with strangers.
Article 11 The following things are strictly forbidden: private group travelling launched by any individual; individually inviting or recruiting other students to work on marketing, ritual service or any business activity. Once verified, the organizer will be held accountable by YPC in accordance with seriousness of the case. If any accident occurs, the organizer shall bear all the responsibility and legal liability.
Article 12IES shall be responsible for the interpretation of the regulations.
